Tis’ The Season for Pumpkinpumpkin spice green smoothie recipe

I tend to get really excited when I find a green smoothie recipe that not only tastes divine, but also helps me celebrate this special time of year…The fall!  This particular recipe isn’t just a treat for the taste buds, it’s a pleasure for the mind, body and soul. Although it is not green in color, this Pumpkin Spice Green Smoothie Recipe will surely warm your spirits. Featuring a lovely orange color and some of the most popular flavors of the season, you can be sure this smoothie is as healthy as it is delicious.

One of the things I love about this Pumpkin Spice Green Smoothie Recipe is the fact that it contains raw coconut water. Raw coconut water is one of the best things you can give your body. It delivers a bevy of health benefits, making it an important part of this smoothie’s ingredient list. Drinking raw coconut water hydrates the body, protects the heart, lowers blood pressure, helps with weight loss.  It also gets rid of headaches and hangovers, helps stabilize glucose levels in the blood, helps balance the body’s pH levels, acts as a diuretic and slows down the aging process.

Green Smoothie Recipe with Warm Accents of Fall

I like to drink this Pumpkin Spice Green Smoothie for breakfast in the morning, due to its sweet flavor and coconut water boost to get me going quickly. I try to make it as often as possible while pumpkins are in season, and I keep a steady supply of bananas in the freezer so I can whip this up anytime the craving strikes. I like to drink this smoothie at any time of day.

There are two things I do when making this pumpkin spice green smoothie recipe that I feel makes it the best it can be. First, for the utmost in health benefits, I only buy organic ingredients. Second, I only use bananas that are very ripe because they are the sweetest. You know they’re perfect for this recipe when little brown speckles appear on their peels.  I really hope you enjoy my green smoothie with the warm accents of fall as much as my family and I do.  It’s even a great treat for kids, it tastes so good they’ll never even know it’s healthy!

  • 3 to 4 very ripe bananas
  • 3 to 4 frozen bananas (peel and freeze several hours beforehand)

  • 1 heaping tablespoon cinnamon
  • (Optional) 1/2 cup carob or raw cacao (adds a chocolaty twist)
