Green Smoothies With Spinach
Starting my day off with green smoothies gives me a radiant glow. I like knowing that I’ve provided my body with exactly what it needs to be energized and nourished. Green smoothies are also great if you are running short on time in the mornings. Usually, it takes me less than ten minutes to make a smoothie in the morning, including clean up time. You can even make extra smoothies and take them with you to work or school for when those mid morning/afternoon hunger pains strike.
Over the years, I’ve collected hundreds of recipes for green smoothies. Recently, I started going through my files again to find some of my best recipes, and I stumbled across this beauty. I like to call it the Ultra Green Smoothie. One of its main ingredients is spinach.
Most of us are familiar with the health benefits that spinach has to offer, so I’ll spare you the lecture. Just know that it is an excellent source of dietary fiber, protein, and a number of vitamins and nutrients.
If you are interested in trying out the Ultra Green Smoothie, here are the ingredients that you’ll need to have:
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 2 cups organic spinach
- 1/2 avocado, frozen
- 1/2 banana, frozen
- 2 tbsp hemp hearts or hemp seeds
- 3 ice cubes
The avocado in these green smoothies gives it a creaminess that is very similar to that of a milkshake. It’s also really high in a number of beneficial antioxidants. If you’d like for your smoothie to be a little thinner, you can add a little bit of water to thin it out. Additionally, if you’d like for your smoothie to be slightly sweeter, add a bit of a natural sweetener, like agave nectar or stevia, to taste.
Anyways, when it comes to making these green smoothies, all you need to do is add your ingredients to the blender, one at a time, and blend them together on high until they are smooth. Then, it’s time to pour it into a glass and enjoy! This recipe makes about 20 ounces of smoothie, but you can double it if you need to make more. Enjoy!
