Green Smoothies With Figs
Figs make an excellent base fruit for green smoothies. Because they have a mild flavor, they blend well with a number of different fruits. Figs are rich in all of the B Vitamins, as well as calcium, iron, copper, and magnesium. Figs can be tossed whole into the blender, but many people prefer to quarter them before placing them in the blender. - 1 large organic peach, pitted
- 3 fresh figs
- 2 handfuls of fresh baby spinach or other leafy green
- 4-6 ounces of water
Each of these ingredients should be added to your blender one at a time and blended together until smooth. A single one of these recipes will yield roughly 2-3 cups of green smoothie, but if you need to make more, then the recipe can easily be doubled. Try it out for yourself.
