Green Smoothie With Cranberries
Now that we are well in October, this is the time of year where it is our last chance to use most summer fruits. For this green smoothie recipe, I’m using the last of my plums, but I’m mixing them up with cranberries, which just started appearing at my local health food store.
This green smoothie is loaded with a number of antioxidants due to the plums and cranberries. These fruits provide the green smoothie with a flavor that is both sweet and tart. The banana further contributes to sweeten the flavor, and the almond milk serves to mellow out all of these flavors. It also adds a certain amount of creaminess to the smoothie.
Did you know that cranberries contain antiviral properties? They are actually quite famous for their ability to guard your body against urinary tract infections. Both the lettuce and the bananas provide a great source of dietary fiber, with each green smoothie having about 22 grams of fiber.
If you are eager to try a green smoothie with cranberries, here is a good one to try. Here are the ingredients that you’ll need to have on hand:
- 6 ounces organic almond milk
- 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
- 2 plums, pitted
- 2 bananas, peeled
- 1 small head of escarole lettuce
Each of these ingredient should be added to your blender one at a time and blended together until smooth. Blend them together for about 1 minute on the highest speed setting. This smoothie makes about 1 cup of smoothie, but you can easily double the ingredients if you need to make more. Enjoy!
