Green Smoothie With Blackberries
Blackberries are not my first choice of fruit when it comes to making a green smoothie, but this particular recipe made a great impression on me, despite the fact that one of its primary ingredients is blackberries.
Even you aren’t a fan of their taste, you must admit that blackberries, especially when used in a green smoothie, have a lot of health benefits to offer. They are one of the most antioxidant rich fruits that you can find on the market today, and currently, their uses in treating and preventing cancer are being studied all over the world.
The blueberries used in this green smoothie offer the perfect complement to the blackberries. They are also quite rich in antioxidants, and they also provide a good dose of dietary fiber. In fact, through the blackberries and blueberries used in the recipe, this green smoothie offers 20.9 grams of fiber, which is astonishing to me.
For this green smoothie, I opted to use baby kale. Its flavor is considerably less bitter than that of fully grown kale, so it is more easily hidden by the natural sweetness of the fruit. To make this green smoothie, here are the ingredients that you’ll need:
- 1 small apple, cored
- 1 cup blackberries
- 1 banana, peeled
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 3 cups fresh baby kale
- 8 ounces of coconut water
Each of these ingredients should be added to your blender, one at a time, and blended together until they have a smooth, creamy consistency. It should only take 1-2 minutes on your blender’s highest speed setting. Then, it’s time to enjoy! If you are curious, here is some relevant nutritional info for this green smoothie:
