Green Smoothie Recipes with Kiwi and Cucumber
Green smoothie recipes are very nutritional as well as a dietary aid for digestion. They are great for diets because they are a complete food as opposed to juices. Green smoothies are easy to make and easy to drink unlike most health smoothies that have awful twangy tastes to them. Ingredients should be healthy and should go good together and the tastes should not clash with each other. Yogurt is an ingredient that some people use in green smoothies this ingredient is one that has to be done for personal taste.
Apples are interchangeable with other fruits. They were just chose because of them being a good source of fiber, vitamin C, and anti-oxidants. Many fruits can take the apples place: grapes, nectarines and bananas are some good examples.
- 1 small cucumber, with peel
- 3 kiwifruits, peeled
- 1 apple, cored
- 1/2 bunch of Swiss chard, chopped
- 1/2 head of Romaine lettuce
- 4 to 6 ounces of filtered water
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender except for the lettuce. Hit the pulse button a few times. next add the lettuce and blend on high for about 30 – 40 seconds. Make sure the smoothie has a thick consistency. This smoothie must be drank immediately after being made because if left for later the smoothie will start to separate.
