Green Smoothie Recipes With Fresh Kiwi

Green Smoothie RecipesLet’s be honest. Because of its ingredients, these green smoothie recipes are going to have an odd color, but if you can move beyond that, you are going to be enjoying one cool and refreshing treat! The delicious chocolate flavor of the cacao is nicely complimented by the cool mint tones. Delicious!

Mixing kiwi and cacao is one of my personal favorite flavor combinations. Kiwi seeds are a great source of Omega 3 fatty acids. The skin of the kiwi is rich in antioxidants, so it is preferable that you go ahead and just use the entire kiwi in your green smoothie recipes. One beneficial property that kiwi has to offer is actinidin. This enzyme helps your body break down protein that it obtains from food.

The mint tea is mostly used as a flavor accent in this green smoothie. If you don’t have any mint tea readily available, you can substitute using water. Just remember to throw in a handful of mint leaves. It will taste almost as good! This green smoothie is an excellent source of energy throughout your day, because the cacao will release a steady stream of healthy sugars into your body all day long.

So, here are the ingredients you’ll need to make these green smoothie recipes:

  •  3 organic kiwifruit, with skin
  •  1 tablespoon cacao powder
  •  2 small bananas, peeled
  •  2 cups fresh baby spinach
  •  8 ounces of chilled mint tea

If you’ll be using mint tea, then your first step is going to be to make the tea and let it cool completely before adding the rest of your ingredients. After you are done fixing the tea, go ahead and all of the other ingredients (plus the tea) into your blender and blend them on high for about 60 seconds.
