Spinach has been long considered one of nature’s healthiest foods. One cup of spinach contains no fat and very few calories and is fully loaded with nutritional value. Therefore, Spinach is an extremely important part of your daily diet. This veggie promotes healthy skin, hair and bones. Medical studies have also linked spinach to providing major health benefits such as lowered blood pressure, asthma prevention, and reduced risk of osteoporosis.

All About Avocado

Avocado has recently gotten a lot of attention for its many nutritional benefits. Every time I open my Facebook, I see a new person posting an avocado toast recipe. Since I’m trying to cut down on my carbs, I prefer to add my daily serving of avocado into my smoothies. In a single serving of avocado, you are getting plenty of vitamin K, folate, the B vitamins, vitamin C, and potassium.  Avocado is a Super Food and is one of the best sources of healthy fats you will incorporate into your diet. Monounsaturated fatty acids promote heart health and protect against certain forms of cancer.

With the addition of flax seed in this green smoothie recipe, you’ll take in even more of these healthy fats. Flax seeds are also a superior source of fiber in diets and are useful for helping control blood sugar levels. Stabilizing blood sugar is a critical part of losing weight since insulin levels control hunger. The honey in the Avocado Apple Green Smoothie will sweeten the smoothie without causing the dramatic blood sugar spike caused by adding white sugar to the mix.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups water
